Budapest, Hungary

Obviously my intention of leaving yesterday didn't quite pan out. I went to the baths again last night (I might as well just get a membership at this point) and then enjoyed an evening of great fun in the hostel lounge/bar. Today I explored the 8th district with Jason, an English guest at the hostel and tonight a group of us are going to the Hungarian buffet I have wanted to try since I got here. If we understand it correctly you get three hours for dinner during which time you may have as much food, beer and wine as you desire. All the food is traditional Hungarian fare and reported by other hostel guests to be excellent.
It is unseasonably hot for Budapest at this time of the year and even just a leisurely walk through the city can become exhausting (however I have discovered that a few hours at one of the bath houses is a great way to revive oneself). The evenings and mornings are comfortable though quite bright and sunny.
I was talking for a while with one of the hostel regulars, Jay, who does contract computer work. He runs all his payments through Paypal and lives in Budapest on an American salary.
I am still piecing together my trip to Krakow, working the train out isn't easy as the times are not exactly what I want but I am sure I can work something out. I may also take a day-trip to Slovakia tomorrow.
Right now I am at the Easy Internet Cafe which is a pretty good place with good connections.

Budapest, Hungary

Well, I have explored the city, both Buda and Pest. The castle/Palace in Buda is beautiful as well as huge. There is an entire city at the top of the hill along with the palace. A few of us explored the castle grounds and then headed out for a traditional Hungarian meal which was excellent. Then two days ago we spent the day in the thermal baths and are headed back there again today. You feel so relaxed and refreshed, I could go to them every day. And the price is about 8 dollars for 4 hours.
I am probably going to leave tomorrow for a quick stop in Krakow, Poland before spending a few days in Prague and then heading back home. This is without a doubt the most relaxing stop of my trip... much of it due to the laid back atmosphere of the hostel (which is much like bing at someone's house whose parents went to the shore for a week when you were in high school).
Internet access isn't the best here, but the rest of what the city has to offer is wonderful.
